ilya strebulaev

Ilya A. Strebulaev is the David S. Lobel Professor of Private Equity and Professor of Finance at the Stanford Graduate School of Business, and a Research Associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research. He is an expert in corporate finance, venture capital, innovation financing, and financial decision-making. He is the founder and director of the Stanford GSB Venture Capital Initiative.

His work has been published in major academic journals and received numerous prizes and awards, including the First Paper Prize of the Brattle Award for the best corporate paper published in the Journal of Financeand the Fama-DFA Prize for the best asset pricing paper in the Journal of Financial Economics. His research has also been featured in a variety of media, including The New York Times and The Wall Street Journal.  He teaches in the MBA, PhD, and executive education programs, and has received numerous teaching awards, including the MBA Distinguished Teaching Award and the Sloan Award for Teaching Excellence at Stanford. 

Ilya received his Ph.D. in Finance from the London Business School in 2004. He also holds degrees from Lomonosov Moscow State University (B.Sc. Economics) and the New Economic School, Moscow (M.A. Economics).
